In July 2026, conservation efforts in Nouabalé-Ndoki National Park continued to focus on wildlife protection, community engagement, wildlife health and ecotourism development. The reopening of Wali Bai, featuring a new observation platform, represents an important step in promoting the site’s tourism potential. In Bomassa, 175 participants validated a Community Action Mini-Plan focusing on livestock farming, fishing, small businesses and service provision. Teams also strengthened the capacity of 24 ecoguards in wildlife health monitoring and continued acoustic monitoring of elephants. Park protection remains a key priority, with three elephant carcasses found around the park and attributed to poaching.
